3×19 PLA Wire Rope

3×19 PLA was engineered specifically for underwater applications. With its phenomenal resistance to kinking, corrosion, abrasion and fatigue, 3×19 PLA is a significant improvement over regular 3×19 oceanographic wire rope.

Following the success of our plastic impregnated and coated 7×7 PCG on long and short term buoy implants, our engineers have designed the ideal underwater rope combining the unique anti-kink and corrosion resisting properties of regular 7×7 PCG with outstanding anti-rotational characteristics, high yield strength, low stretch and low weight in water.

WIRE

The smallest component of a rope.

STRAND

The element of a rope that is composed of a construction of wires which are helically stranded in the same direction in one or more layers around a core.

CORE

The element in the middle of a round rope, around which the strands of a stranded rope or the ropes of a cable laid rope are helically stranded.
